Antara Happy bila Kurus dan Gemuk bila Happy

=)

bukan sekali. tapi beberapa kali. ada anak murid aku yang petah bercakap or cerdik advance, dorang suka bertanya. kekadang soalan2 dorang tu out of the box, kekadang out of the planet hahaha. korang yang baca Hanya Sekepal Dua paham kot. hiks. tapi ada satu soalan ni yang dorang tanya kat aku... aku sendiri terkebil-kebil kejap masa nak jawab. first encounter aku dengan soalan cepuk cemas tu ialah taon lepas.

cerita dia camni... aku kat sekolah budak2 panggil macam2. cekgu, ticer, sir, and ustaz. aku tak kesah pon. but eventually, panggilan ustaz tu yang triggered soalan power ni. budak tu cakap apa tau?

"ustaz, kenapa ustaz tak gemuk?"
aku tanya balek, "kenapa tanya saya camtu?"
"sebab selalu saya tengok ustaz2 ustazah2 ni gemuk2. kenapa ustaz kurus?"

hah. ambik. tu makan dia. agak2 korang aku jawab apa? haaa.... hehehe. kalau aku jawab aku bukan ostad, dia akan ada tanggapan 'oh patut la tak gemuk sebab bukan ostad.' teeeeettt. takleh jawab camtu. so? penin tau pikir jawapan yang 'sesuai' dengan soalan tu. nak taknak aku kena putarbelit jugak la sket bagi dia puas ati, memenuhi curiosity dia tu. last2 aku cakap kat dia

"tak elok membandingbezakan rupa paras orang. setiap kejadian Tuhan buat ada hikmah. ok?" *cough* pasnih nak apply pencetus amarah ummah lah. hiks

anyways!

ya? korang bleh jawab tak soalan tu? kenapa ustaz2, ustazah2 mostly dorang ni big in size or plus size? yang ustaznya buncit, boroi... yang ustazahnya kembang, tembun... aku terpikir soalan tu tau. sebab... bila aku sendiri perati keliling... yaaa~~ that boy was right! and aku even penah encounter budak yang bila aku tanya pasal ambition dia cakap nak jadi ustazah, tapi dia tukar pulak... sebab dia kata "kalau jadi ustazah nanti gem-" "Hey!" aku jerit kat dia sebelum dia habiskan perkataan tu. sungguh tak sopan. adeh~~

so.. yeah. why aa? benda ni memang common ke, bermusim ke, phenomenal ke, camne?

mind the G word. i know it's sensitive to some. so aku tanak guna istilah tu ye. aku akan sub dengan perkataan2 laen yang lebih sesuai tapi kena dengan konteks.

aku ada buat survey tau. mini research so called. aku pernah tanya2 para ustaz para ustazah ilmuan agama ni pasal hal ni. well, tak la secara direct. gila hapa nak pi tanya "ostad, awat ostad sehat sangat ni?" haaa... masak aku kena tazkirah satgi hahaha. ada la cara aku halus, tapi efektif. chewah! ehehe. based on aku punya dapatan... ada beberapa perkara yang menarik minat aku nak kongsi dengan korang mengenai kenapa orang2 alim ni kebanyakkannya berbadan besar.

happiness

kegembiraan

itulah kunci utama dorang. itulah faktor dorang berbadan besor. itulah key point dorang untuk teruskan hidup dengan bersaiz camtu tanpa pedulik apa orang nak cakap. so aku pon kaji dalam2 benda ni. aku baca underlying meanings. aku baca between the lines. surprisingly banyak jawapan yang tercabang daripada peristilahan 'gembira' tu. aku pilih dua yang paling teramat sangat utama.

1. orang2 alim ni fokus dia kat akhirat dah. dia memang aim sana lebih banding dengan dunia. tuntutan akhirat over kehendak dunia. akhirat tuntut dorang beramal, beriman, bertaqwa. Tuhan tak pandang paras rupa. yang pandang rupa ni manusia je. kita hidup bukan untuk please manusia yang kita jumpak sementara je kat dunia ni, tapi untuk please 'azzawajalla yang abadi selamanya kat Sana. sebab tu dorang makan bila nak makan, makan apa nak makan.. janji ibadat jalan, janji kemungkaran tinggal. bagi dorang itulah kegembiraan mutlak. haa... nampak? kurus2 katang2 lansing2 ni dunia je. hiks~

2. orang2 alim, baek ustaz or ustazah - dorang rata-ratanya dah berkeluarga. jarang laaa ko nak jumpak or nampak or kenal ostad or ustajah or orang2 berilmu tinggi bab2 agama ni single. sebab Tuhan memang mudahkan jodoh dorang (insyaAllah) maka dorang yang ada title ustaz ustazah ni memang family person la senang cakap. bila dah berfamily, biasanya dorang tau peranan masing2. like... tugas isteri ialah melayan suami, tugas suami ialah melayan isteri. jadi?

jadi. suami cari duit, beli ayam bagi isteri. isteri masak ayam tadi, suami makan dengan isteri. kan ke harmoni? hahaha. ok ok. point aku kat sini- ustaz2 berperut ke depan (senang cakap boroi la ye enche2 suami sekalian) sebab sang isteri -isteri pandai masak! nak jaga hati isteri, kena makan masakan dia. haa... sweet kan? dah kena pulak si isteri cuak2 tak reti masak kononnya, takut lauk tak sedap... kejap masak rasa tawar, disenduknya garam secedok dua... kejap rasa tak manis, ditaburnya gula sekati dua... kejap rasa ceroi or tak pekat likat melekat, disimbahnye masuk santan sebaldi dua... padahal dah sedap dah awal2 tadi, cuma dia je rasa takot tak sedap or tak kena selera suami. ahahaha. maka penuh lah sajian enak tersebut dengan kalori, lemak tepu, protin tak larut, kolesterol dan laen2 lagi agen obesiti. hiks. makan bang aji, jangan tak makan. nanti bini majuk kata masak tak sedap pulak. yang bini dok risau, kalo tak masak or masak tak sedap nanti bang aji cari laen or bukak restoran baruuu.... lol~

itu yang suami. yang ustazah ni kenapa lepas kawen tetiba naik badan pastu tak turun2 dah? hikhik. sebab... antara jawapan popular yang aku dapat ialah... dorang dah tak kesah nak jaga bentuk badan especially. haaa... tak tipu beb. ramai para ustajah yang mengaku sebelom kawen badan dorang kecik2 slim2 sedap2 pakai saiz S je. tapi lepas kawen... em.. itulah. siap yang jawab "gemuk pon takpe, ada orang sayang." hokhok. sentap. hahaha. em. testimoni yang aku dapat ialah dorang rasa itu zaman muda2 je, dah kawen dah ada laki yang setia, benda tu duniawi je dah. now fokus pada suami, anak2, keluarga, fokus kat ibadat nak jumpak tuhan nanti. so makan la camne pon, tambah la saiz camne pon, janji hepi. gittew~~ hahaha

****

personally, aku takde masalah langsung dengan orang plus size or extra sehat or big papa/mama nih. bagi aku tu hak dorang. aku bolehlah dikatakan bersetuju dengan prinsip "janji happy" dorang. cumanya... satu je aku dok mikior ni... kalo saket, acaner?

kita pon tau kan... rata2 rakyat Malaysia ni cemerlang dalam peningkatan tahap obesiti dan menyumbang kepada penambahan jumlah diabetic pada peratusan yang mengagumkan. jadi biasanya orang2 yang plus size ni... penyakit prone. darah tinggi lah, kencing manis lah, jantung lah, salur darah tersumbat lah, gout lah, macam2 lah! korang tak risau ke kena semua2 tu? aku risau... =\ aku tak suka saket beb... walopon orang cakap saket itu penghapus dosa... takkan nak tungguh saket je baru nak cleansing dosa? kalo sehat walafiat bebas penyakit, bukan ke lebih cergas untuk tambah pahala dan pergiat usaha hapus dosa? ke aku salah? hmmm...

TAPI! haa.. ada tapi. tapi tu la... Allah Maha Kaya kan. susah benornye ko nak nampak ustaz2 ustazah2 orang2 alim orang2 agama ni saket serius2. betoooooolll.... kalo tak caya pegi selidik sendiri. kekadang nampak je beliau tu semangat sehatnye ha.. tapi takde penyakit! sehat! hepi! dah... ko nak cakap apa? hahahaha. maybe itu hadiah Tuhan. dorang jaga agama, Tuhan jaga dorang. dan mungkin betul jugak macam orang cakap... bila kita hepi, kita sehat. =)

so kesimpulannya kat sini... kalo korang rasa happy bila kurus, teruskan. janji jangan saket. kalo korang rasa tak kesah gemuk at the same time nak hepi, jadilah ostad/ustajah. hikhik. tapi paling baek ialah... korang sehat, korang hepi. saiz bukan soal utama. ok? contohilah Ustaz Don, Imam Muda Asyraff, Ustaz Kazim, Ustaz Azhar Idrus. dah kawen, dah berkeluarga, tetap maintain fit. gittew... hiks! ^^ wallahualam~

p.s: ironically, MacDonald's serves fast -fatty, oily, unhealthy- food to kids; they call it "Happy Meal"

so... what say you?

McDonald's and Malaysian - An Unauthorized Action Research

[this entry is a simplified version of what my team and I have been researching and writing. all information exclusively belongs to these curious and hardworking people. you may share, however - just quote this site as a token of appreciation. we thank you first.]

abstract

McDonald's is a brand of fast food franchise that has been rooting deep in Malaysian's stomachs. It set foot on this very land in 1982 as its first restaurant was opened in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. To date, there are hundreds of McDonald's restaurants all over the country.

Most of us know how tasty McDonald's meals can be. And that's why we can see an increasing number of Malaysian who prefer to have fast-cooked burgers and deep-fried fries with carbonated drinks for lunch and dinner - rather than home-made dishes. This popular trend leads us to conduct a mini research about Malaysian eating habit and preferences - at McDonald's.

objective(s)

Since we have grown accustomed to this fast food franchise, we want to know what kind of meals that Malaysians like to enjoy, and what sort of activities people love to do while being at the restaurant.

methodology

- We bombard various McDonald's restaurants regardless the location and distance. Be it in shopping malls or stand-alone, we visit them at random.

- We normally storm in during peak hour - lunch and dinner. Due to the offers made by the company, we would purchase some for us as well, while keeping our eyes and ears open for one to two hours per session. We go for breakfast too, but the houses are on average clear.

- There are several research methods used in this find-out. We use sets of questionnaires, interview and a-face-in-the-crowd technique (observation) to collect data.

-- For writing feedback, we do ask permission from the manager of the chosen restaurant(s) first before distributing them to their customers. Questionnaires would only be launched if permission is granted.

- The samples for this research are the customers of the lucky restaurants themselves. We don't really pick targets - yet sometimes we can't help it but to discriminate. ~

findings/data

1. Restaurants are packed with people during lunch hour (12.00 pm to 2.30 pm) and dinner (7.00 pm to 9.00 pm) .
* This is probably due to the price cut made by McDonald's on its meals (McValue Lunch/Dinner).

2. Generally, the customers are of various age groups - children, teenagers, adults. Children are normally accompanied by their parents, while teenagers come in herd numbers.. as in a group of three or so/more.

3. The top 5 meals (as in set) are;

i. Double Cheeseburger
ii. Big Mac
iii. Spicy Chicken McDeluxe
iv. Happy Meal (with chicken burger)
v. Fillet-O-Fish

4. Malay customers usually have beef-based burgers. Chinese customers seemed prefer the Fillet-O-Fish, while Indian customers tend to go for non-beef burger patties.
* We couldn't really determine the exact ethnicity (other than the three major races) of the customers in Sabah and Sarawak.

5. Female customers prefer to have desserts alongside the meals. McFlurry (of different variety) tops the survey, followed by sundaes and milkshakes.

6. Only 2 out of 13 customers (based on a few hundred samples.. so far) prefer tomato ketchup than chilli sauce. Such result comes from young customers (children) and women - mostly.

7. Female customers tend to order Coke Light for refreshment - rather than the original Coca Cola. Male customers, however, do not insist to change anything for the meals. They love to have it as it's advertised. Parents on the other hand would order cold Milo for their children.

8. As for couple(s), the male usually the one who'd queue up to place order, while the female finds a place to sit.

9. Malaysians tend NOT to sit - or share seats - with strangers.

10. 93% of samples admit that they will refill their drinks at least once.

11. Over 60% of samples prefer to go to McDonald's with friends - rather than family members.

12. Among those who have social media account (Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc), 86.4% of them prefer to check-in or tell their friends that they are at which McDonald's, what they are doing and with whom they are with.

13. Frequency of going to McDonald's ;

i. 18% - weekly
ii. 36% - monthly
iii. 28% - when they have special occasions/events (birthday celebration, etc)
iv. 13% - when they feel like going
v. 5% - only when McDonald's have special promotions

14. Most male customers prefer to spend more time on eating, while female customers tend to consume more time on chatting. Parents with children spend more time at the restaurant than any other groups of customers.

15. Less than 30% of samples asked - realized that the prices of the meals have been increased (slightly or clearly).

16. Over 80% of samples tell us that they prefer to dine in rather than take away. The top 3 reasons;

i. free flow of sauce (dipper)
ii. free refill of refreshments
iii. the surrounding and environment of the restaurants

17. 4 out of 10 samples admit that they would go for 'large' set of meals if asked upon placing their order.

18. Over 70% of samples would take the pictures of the food of special promotions - e.g. Prosperity Burger, GCB, Samurai Burger, Flavour of the month sundae/McFlurry, Mega Mac etc.

19. Most samples whom are students, prefer to study - be in a group or alone - at McDonald's restaurant. And they admit that studying in group(s) at McDonald's leads to more chatting and gossiping and refilling their cups of coke - rather than studying the notes for real.

20. 96% of samples think that it's okay to just buy a cup of soft drink at the restaurant just to earn a place to sit, and wait for their partner/friends to come. Not to mention to enjoy the shades and air-condition.

21. Only 2 out of 10 samples clean up their mess and clear the table on their own.

22. ... .. .

- These are just a few data of findings that we got from our research so far. We hope to finish this research very soon, within the timeline and able to publish this - somehow, somewhen, somewhere.
